Awards
Buro Lubbers often participates in design competitions and contests. With success. In 2006 the studio won the most prestigious development competition in the Netherlands for a new residential area in Saksen Weimar, Arnhem. Following international competitions the citizens of both Nijmegen and ‘s-Hertogenbosch choose the designs for the two town squares Plein ’44 and Parade. At a international scale the studio also left its traces. Thus it won the contest (2001) for the redevelopment of the industrial complex Belval-Ouest in Luxemburg and was the studio selected by the Flemish Governement Architect to design the village square in Kapellen. Examples of successful plural assignments are numerous, to name but a few: Rieteiland-Oost (2005), Frij’Hof Nijmegen (2006), Blaricummermeent Deelplan B (2008).
Realised projects of the studio were also awarded. In 2004 the inner court of the Choorstraat in ’s-Hertogenbosch was awarded the Dutch Design Prize. The residential area Monnikenhuizen was awarded the Omgevingsarchitectuurprijs (2002), Heuvelinkprijs (2002) and Nepronprijs (2004). The Westerpark in ’s-Hertogenbosch won the local Architect’s Prize (2003) and the residential area ’t Zand in Son en Breugel was crowned with the Welstandsprijs (2005).
