Public space
Buro Lubbers designs plans and small architectural units for divergent outdoor spaces: parks, squares, gardens, public space, etc. Inspired by the landscape, the urban and cultural history, the designs are carefully tuned into the specific characteristics of the place and the required programme. Thus, for example, the vegetation is adapted to the area or desired image, the relation to the surroundings is accurately detailed and if possible relics are given a new destination. The language of forms and the use of materials by Buro Lubbers can be described as tough and robust, durable and timeless, powerful and simple. Sober means result into poetic and functional spaces that invite the public to meet and greet.
