Urban planning
The urban planning projects of Buro Lubbers are based on landscape and public space, so called landscape urbanism. The landscape and its underlying historical structures are analysed and motivate the development of further (urban) planning. The aim is to realise dwelling, working and recreational environments that carefully relate to the characteristics of the place, implying that built structures are confronted with the landscape. This interaction leads to unique projects showing a balanced concentration of building in the landscape, collective public spaces and services, accurate transitions between private and public space, special relations between indoors and outdoors, a resourceful (double) orientation of houses and multiple land use. The landscape urbanism of Buro Lubbers challenges architecture and thus results into unique dwelling projects.
